I enjoyed the whole story, especially the realistic approach to Sam's injuries and the relationships. The final chapter didn't disappoint. Instead of a schmoopy rainbows-and-unicorns fairy tale ending, you gave us one that, while happy, left room for character growth.
Best of all, this is the first AU I've read that has Sam returning to Stanford. It wasn't a fall-back choice, either. He proved he can be a hunter and will always be there for his Dad and Dean, yet chose to follow his own path. *high-fives Sam* (I never got John's objections to Sam going to college. You'd think having a lawyer on speed-dial would be a good thing for a hunter.)
